Light Vector Laser Installation Adds Over 300 Watts of White Laser Light to Kings and Clippers

This autumn Image Engineering installed four LV50 and two LV60 Light Vector scanning laser projectors and associated hardware in the Staples Center. This extensive laser installation is now a permanent fixture in the arena, delivering over 300 watts of white light laser power for spectacular laser effects that can be programmed entirely from a conventional lighting console. This intuitive programming feature is made possible by the laser projector’s internal control system, Beam Composer, which allows the fixture to behave and operate like an automated moving light. These new Light Vector laser projectors replace previous green light laser fixtures in the arena, more that doubling the laser power in the entertainment complex with full color laser light.

This laser show premiered October 7th, ushering in the LA King’s season opener against the San Jose Sharks. It will continue to be a dynamic feature of the pre-game show before each home game in the Staples Center. Commissioned by the LA Kings for their use, some of the fixtures will also be used by the LA Clippers under an arrangement with the Kings.
