One of the hottest weekends in July sees the biggest free arts festival in America attracting around 300,000 people to Baltimore City.
Image Engineering set up at the main stage with three camera operators and one director/switcher. In-between music acts sponsors reels were played. The festival lasted for three days with each bringing a different challenge. The biggest challenge of all was the weather. Several headliners had to cut their acts short as our team had to get the gear out of the rain and our screens down low while also cutting to graphics warning patrons to immediately seek shelter. The screens went up and down five times over the course of the weekend due to lightning/storms. The storm warning graphics weren’t the only graphics we had to create on the spot as we also made an “On behalf of everyone here at Artscape: Congratulations Matt and Heather” that was flashed up after we captured their marriage proposal on the LED screens.
