blackbear’s Fire Palms

The performing artists blackbear had recently completed a video shoot which included palm trees on fire in the background. He wanted to replicate this look for an upcoming live show at the Red Rocks Amphitheater and reach out to the Image team to make it happen for him.

The Image team had about four weeks to take this initial idea and deliver a fully operational and safe product to the venue in time for blackbear’s show. The team sourced prefabricated aluminum palm trees and integrated a custom flame assembly to make it appear that the leaves of the palm tree were engulfed in flames. Included in the integration were a custom safety system and control panel that could be operated manually or through DMX triggers.

The palm trees stole the show, bringing the artists vision to life creating a unique and completely unexpected effect.
