MLB All Star Game Hank Aaron Tribute

It’s Gone! It’s 715!

On July 15, 2025 (7/15/2025), Image Engineering produced the Hank Aaron Tribute after the 6th inning of the 2025 MLB All Star Game. The 2.5 minute show was a first of its kind for Major League Baseball, combining projection mapping, stadium graphics, lighting, pyrotechnics and an all-encompassing soundtrack.

For its inception, the Tribute’s intention was to honor Henry Aaron and his accomplishments and bring the 715 moment to a new audience without recreating Aaron or his record-breaking hit.

The creative intent of this show to transport the in-stadium audience back to 1974 in Atlanta Fulton County Stadium to relive history. The moment was designed to feel inevitable yet surprising — the audience could sense something monumental building, but the execution exceeded all expectations. As the storyline was developed, it was clear that the Home Run pyrotechnic comet would become the climax of the show – marrying the rising action of “Sitting on 714” and the resolution of “what a marvelous moment for baseball.” The comet was designed to reinforce the illusion that the audience had truly been transported back to 1974. The Image Engineering team carefully scouted the exact location where the ball had originally landed, allowing the comet to retrace its authentic path. By blending a digital recreation of the environment for the physical stadium audience, the comet helped the audience feel immersed in that historic moment.

The Hank Aaron Tribute pushed the MLB All-Star Game into a new echelon of production, proving that sports entertainment can deliver moments as cinematic and emotionally rich as any stage or screen performance. Viewers in the stands and at home experienced the same sense of grandeur and intimacy. By translating the emotion of history into the language of light and motion, the Home Run Comet unified the entire production — ensuring that the tribute wasn’t simply watched but felt.
