Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights engaged Image Engineering to help add the Vegas flare to the arrival of the new hockey team, and to create a first impression for their place in the city culture.
At Image Engineering, we designed and implemented an ice projection system, a host of set pieces and props including a DJ booth, organ booth and entertainment stage backdrop, and a C02 jet system to be shot off for player introductions and goals.
Image’s team of designers began by creating 3D renderings and animations of the set pieces within a virtual T-Mobile Arena to get a realistic visualization of the inspiration and hone the design. Once approved, all set pieces went to Image’s mechanical engineers and fabricators to be CNC carved from foam, hard coated for durability and hand painted.
While the fabrication team was hard at work on the physical assets, Image’s team of integrators were working with Christie Digital. T-Mobile Arena and the Vegas Golden Knights to design and implement the installation of their projection system. Image’s team specified all projection video signal, network signal, and rigging equipment, as well as design the full system architecture. Once designed, Image coordinated all permanent cabling and network needs with T-Mobile and its contractors, providing full project oversight. The final step of installation and commissioning was completed by our expert team of projectionists. The Golden Knights ice projection system is composed of (12) Christie J Series 20k projectors driven by 2 Pandoras Box Media Servers and Mystique Auto calibration system. The Vegas Golden Knights opening night was marked by a tribute to the victims, survivors and first responders of the Las Vegas October 1st tragedy. It is a special experience helping a new franchise launch, and it is a humbling experience to play a small part in a moving tribute such as this.
